New line of VBW Engineering - BS/BD COMPACT R

VBW Engineering is introducing a new line of compact air handling units – BS/BD COMPACT R. The unit has been designed to retain full functionality while reducing overall dimensions. The new line of BS/BD COMPACT R compact standalone air handling units includes 5 sizes with capacity from 700 to 9500m3/h. The new line of units will find application and provide comfort and optimum ventilation levels in rooms such as shops, restaurants, studios, conference rooms and various types of public use rooms.

Energy recovery

The new line of BS/BD COMPACT – R AHUs was created in order to achieve the highest standards and meet all requirements, therefore, the new product line of VBW Engineering meets the assumption of the EcoDesign 2018 directive. BS/BD COMPACT – R AHUs are equipped with a rotary heat recovery exchanger, which ensures energy recovery efficiency of up to 81%. 

The rotor is driven by a stepper motor, which ensures high precision control of the exchanger rotation and increases its efficiency.

The BS/BD COMPACT – R line is equipped with a heater, water or electric, built inside the unit. Thanks to this, the unit easily adapts to the target room and has smaller dimensions. A great advantage of the device is the application of a modern and safe, self-regulating electric heater based on PTC heaters, which facilitates maintenance of a much lower temperature of the radiator, complete elimination of the risk of overheating the system and obtaining a large heat exchange surface.

High efficiency fans

The BS/BD COMPACT R line air handling units are equipped with highly efficient EC motors which ensure the highest efficiency across all operating characteristics.

The main advantages of EC motors include:

  • easy control,
  • high efficiency of converting electrical power into mechanical power, 
  • high efficiency (practically unchanging) in the range of rotational speed regulation,
  • small dimensions of the casing,
  • quiet operation.

Cartridge filters

The air handling units are equipped with M5 (ISOePM10-50%) and F7 (ISOePM1>70%) class cartridge filters for both fresh and exhaust air. The control system monitors the state of filter contamination.

Hinges and handles

The inspection door is equipped with a double flexible hinge which also serves as a handle. The dual function makes it possible to open the inspection door to both the left and right side. In locations with limited access, this facilitates complete removal of the door. The use of such a solution in the design of the air handling unit makes it easier for users to service and clean the unit.

Plug & Play and integrated automation

BS/BD COMPACT R compact air handling units are delivered as wired units with the automation system installed and configured.

The modern automation system manages the time of unit operation, control fans and rotary exchanger, and regulates temperature and air flow. The system has all functions programmed for the air handling unit. Using the control panel located on the door of the unit, it is possible to enter the function settings, as well as check the readings of individual parameters in text form and in the language chosen by the user. Factory-built control system is a guarantee for reliable cooperation of electronic and mechanical components.

Quality confirmed by certificates

The new line of BS/BD COMPACT R compact air-handling units meets the highest safety and quality standards, which are confirmed by certificates of independent inspection centres. VBW Engineering’s air handling units have a TÜV Rheinland certificate confirming compliance with the conditions for manufacturing the unit in accordance with the DIN 1946-4:2008 standards.
